Catch up time!

Has it really been a month and a half since I last blogged? Crazyness.

A lot has happened in that time but the biggest things were that baby girl started crawling and we went on vacation!

Emma started crawling on Father's Day morning! What a great Father's day present! She pretty wobbly at first but now she is zipping everywhere and is even crawling up the stairs. Thank the Lord for baby gates!

Vacation was awesome. We didn't actually go anywhere but did little day trips here and there. One weekend we went to the Renaissance Festival. Baby girl did so good! She just talked and laughed at everything she saw! I think her favorite was the band of guys in kilts. She stopped what she was doing and wiggled and groved to the music.

We also got to go on a date to the Museum of Nature and Science. We had a girl from the youth group come watch Emma so Andrew and I could have some time to ourselves. We saw Body Worlds and just walked around the museum for a few hours. I think we spent the most time in Space Odyssey though! We were like kids in there playing with all the neat toys and experiments!

We finished up the date with dinner at Olive Garden! I love that place! It was delicious!

We just spent the rest of the days just doing fun stuff. We didn't really have a plan, just whatever sounded good that day.

All in all it was a wonderful vacation!

Fire Pit!!

Busy, busy weekend at our house! Andrew invited a bunch of people over on Sunday to help put our fire pit together. Ben and Kendra, Malea and Colin, and Calvin and Micah all came out to lend a hand. It was pretty funny having everyone giving their ideas. I think there were to many cooks in the kitchen sometimes. But it came out great! They got the area lined out, sand down, pavers in and the fire pit assembled all in one afternoon and 3 trips to Lowe's. It looks so good! I can't wait to use it tomorrow with all the youth coming over for the home fellowship! God help us!

7 months old!

Yesterday, Emma turned seven months old! My little girl is getting so big!

She is almost ready to crawl and is wanting to stand all the time. Her new favorite toy is her jumper. I think she could spend hours in there bouncing around.

She is eating three meals a day just like mom and dad. Squash and strawberries are her favorites, especially when we let her feed herself. She is using her cup with all her meals and is getting pretty good at it.

She has a favorite toy now too. It's a pink stuffed bunny that plays music when you pull it's tail. That thing has to go everywhere with us but especially to bed. She cuddles with it to go to sleep and also uses it as a pillow. It's so sweet!

Emma was also dedicated last Saturday! We had both sets of grandparents and aunt and uncles over for lunch and they all came to church with us. She went to Pastor Ed for about 2 seconds before she wanted mom again. Pretty typical though. :) I will post pictures later when I can find the camera cord that somehow disappeared in the move. :(

Off to Southlands today to walk around and window shop!

Sunshine at last!

We are finally having sunshine and warm weather this week! Hurray! It feels like summer is finally on it's way.

Emma and I spent the morning yesterday outside planting flowers. She was so cute sitting on her blanket playing with her blocks. She is learning to love being outside.

Her new favorite thing is the dogs. I don't know what it is but whenever she sees them, she burst out laughing. She loves petting (patting with the closest toy) the boys. They are really good with her. Thumper is especially good and will let Emma do anything to him. She was playing with his big floppy ear yesterday and he just layed there. Such a good boy!

Church last night was amazing! God is so faithful and good to meet us right where we are, exactly when we need Him most. After a fairly stressful week so far, it was good to just sit in His presance.

Pastor Ed gave us a great quote that I've been meditating on today.

"Discipline requires giving up what is good, or even better, for only what is the best." If I want to follow Jesus, I have to be obedient. I might be able to make something happen on my own that is good but He wants to do what is best. It doesn't matter if it doesn't make sense. In my experience, if it isn't logical, it's probably God's will. And His will is always the best.

Have a blessed day everyone! Off of work and going over to mom's house to help her get ready for Calvin's graduation party! Yikes!

6 months!

We went to the doctor on Tuesday with Miss E for her 6 month check up. She is getting so big! It doesn't seem like it has really been 6 months since she was born.

Anyway, the doctor said she's doing great. Emma is sitting up by herself now and is trying to get on her hands and knees. She's not quite there yet but she's trying.

She is also eating all sorts of foods. Tonight she had sweet potatos and corn and she loved it! Right now she'll pretty much eat anything so maybe we won't have a picky eater. (Crossing fingers)

So here are her stats for 6 months:

16 lbs. 8 oz. = 50% percentile

27 in. tall = 80% percentile

Head circumference = 17 in. = 75% percentile

As the doctor put it, "We have a smart, tall, lean little girl."

Andrew's last rugby game is on Saturday in Boulder so if the weather is good we might go up and watch him. He's excited and a little sad the season is coming to a close. I will be glad when I have my husband back. Sometimes I think I'm his second wife after Rugby. :)

Work is finally picking back up again so that is good news. And, now I'm only working 2 days a week. Yay! God is so good for providing a way for me to be home with Miss E more. Hopefully someday I will get to be home full time.

Well, that's about all the rambling I can do for now. G'night!

Easter and a new blog

New blog! Yay!

What a fun weekend! We went to see Andrew's family on Saturday for Christmas, Easter and Malea's birthday. Whew. That's a lot of celebrating right there. Rick, Bernie and their kids were out and Ashley and TJ were there too. Everyone just oohed and awwwed over Miss E. Rick's family hadn't meet her yet and I think Bernie wanted to take her home.

Sunday, we went to church and we actually got a parking spot because we left early! And on Easter Sunday too. The service was amazing! What a mighty, awesome, powerful God we serve! He is alive!

Anyway, E was so cute in her dress and shoes that Grandma Lockerby bought for her. She went to the nursery for the third time and we weren't paged once. She's such a good girl.

After church, we headed out to my parents house and saw more family. Isabella and Gracelynn just couldn't get enough of E. They were so cute just hugging and kissing her.

Andrew and all the boys went to play hockey and football and they returned mostly without injury. PTL.

It was a great weekend celebrating our Lord Jesus and hanging with family but man was I pooped today.

Fruitful Heritage, the mom's group I go to is tomorrow, so off to bed with this momma. G'night!
